Project detail

Respecting the Past, Embracing the Present

Coast Projects took on the intricate task of refurbishing a property with a clear directive: to be utterly respectful to the era of the home. This involved a deep commitment to authenticity, from creating bespoke skirting and architrave mouldings that matched the existing structures, to choosing materials and finishes that echoed the property’s historic charm.

Authentic Extension and Structural Additions

The team embarked on a major enhancement, adding a 40 m2 London stock brick extension across both the ground and first floors, complete with a bedroom dormer and a cat slide roof. This extension was meticulously crafted to blend seamlessly with the original structure, employing reclaimed bricks and softwood detailing instead of MDF to preserve the architectural integrity.

Electrical, Plumbing, and Glazing Upgrades

A new dormer was added to the front elevation, expanding the living space and introducing more natural light. The entire electrical and plumbing systems of the building were upgraded to modern standards, ensuring functionality and safety. New slim profile aluminium glazing and door systems were installed, offering improved insulation and security without compromising on style.

Interior Finishing and Attention to Detail

The redecoration process involved a careful selection of colors and finishes, with Farrow & Ball paints being used throughout to achieve a classic and timeless look. The kitchen was handcrafted from softwood timber, featuring elegant marble worktops that added a touch of luxury. The property was also equipped with two Schluter wet-rooms, ensuring modern amenities were on hand.

Lighting and Outdoor Elegance

Attention to detail extended to the lighting and accessories, with Corston & Pooky lighting fixtures used throughout to add a layer of sophistication and continuity in design. The project was brought to completion with the addition of an Indian sandstone patio, creating an outdoor space that was as elegant as the interiors.

Coast Projects demonstrated their mastery in balancing historical preservation with modern luxury, ensuring that every aspect of the property paid homage to its era while delivering on the demands of contemporary living. This project stands as a testament to their commitment to quality, authenticity, and attention to detail.
